Community Partnerships

Draw your church together, O God, into one great company of disciples, together following our teacher Jesus Christ into every walk of life, together serving in Christ's mission to the world, and together witnessing to your love wherever you will send us; for the sake of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

Opportunities to partner with your community:

Lutheran Church of the Nativity and Skyland United Methodist are joining forces to feed families in Arden and South Asheville. The WELCOME TABLE serves brunch every Saturday at Skyland's Fellowship Hall from 9:30-11:00. In order to succeed, We need lots of VOLUNTEERS! We will form teams of about 25 people to fill the slots needed. Families with children, teenagers, young adults, Seniors, Couples, and singles can sign up for as many duties in as many time-slots as you feel you can commit to. You are WELCOME! Why this effort you ask? Did you know that 24% of the population in the 28803 and 28704 zip codes live in poverty? Let's get behind this effort that is being made to the Glory of God and the good of our souls here at Nativity. Nativity's Champion for this ministry partnership is Nancy Seekamp.

We collect food items on an ongoing basis. There is a shopping cart in the fellowship hall that you can place donated items. On the first and second Saturday of each month we provide 6-8 volunteers from 8:15 -11:15. No matter what your age we can help support this great community opportunity. Please click here to sign up. nativity's champion for this ministry partnership is Ann Harvey.

On the last Sunday of every month (beginning at 5:30PM), Nativity members volunteer along with ABCCM to help serve food to those who have served our country. Veterans are in need of assistance and this is one opportunity for us to give something back in gratitude for their service. Nativity's Champion for this ministry partnership is Kathleen Treiber.
